The Ransom of Red Chief

Written By O. Henry
Adapted By Anne Coulter Martens

August 22, 2009 - September 20, 2009
This is a hilarious tale of the kidnapped boy, Red, know as Red Chief, who is known as such a holy terror that the question soon becomes: Will Red’s uncle pay to get him back or will the kidnappers have to pay to get rid of him. “It looked like a good thing: but wait till I tell you. We were down South, in Alabama--Bill Driscoll and myself-when this kidnapping idea struck us. It was, as Bill afterward expressed it, 'during a moment of temporary mental apparition'; but we didn't find that out till later.”
